Facebook Lite (Early Review)
Guess what people! Facebook Lite is live! So for all those who do not know what Facebook Lite is, let me explain it to you simply – Facebook Lite is a very watered down Facebook. As far as I can see, it is just the status updates, album posts, video posts and other things people would be tagged in… All in one Twitter-like page. Here’s the difference.
Facebook Home Page
This is a comparison of the home page of the regular Facebook and Facebook Lite’s.

At first glance, you think “What’s different?” Well, all the cluster on the page is absent. The news feed (on the left) along with the other filters are gone. Also missing is the “Highlights” section located on the right. One of the major differences however is the bar at the bottom containing Facebook Chat, the applications tab and your popup style notifications. On Facebook Lite, your notifications are shown on a separate page. Yes that is right — no (excess) applications.
Profile Pages
This is a comparison between the profile pages of the regular Facebook and Facebook Lite.

See the difference? Note that the “Info, Photos, Notes” etc. in the current Facebook layout is no longer present in the “Lite” version.
Conclusion
It is Facebook made easier. For all those who use several apps such as Mafia Wars, Farmville, Mind Jolt Games and what other little apps there are… I dont see it anywhere on Lite, so if you choose to use that, dont expect to get any extra idleness out of it. If however you just want a simple Facebook with status updates, pictures and videos, then Facebook Lite may be for you… or Twitter. I would say that Facebook Lite is a somewhat glorified Twitter, yet at the same time Twitter differs from this in many ways. FB Lite will not replace our “beloved’ Facebook, but it’s just an alternative for those that are… less addicted than others ( lol joking… or am I?
).
Click Facebook Lite to check it out for yourself! That is the ONLY wayyou will see the several differences.
*Update*
Ok, so when I say no excess applications, I mean there are only Photos and Videos. No links (you can put in your own link duh but there is no dedicated link page), no groups… nothing but photo and video. Notes are there, but I don’t know how to access them, only how to preview my notes (same thing with “pages).
Please note that it is still in its Beta though, so the review could change.
